Lake Minnewanka

Lake Minnewanka at sunset is a site to see, and I am always drawn to it when I visit Alberta. It is a glacial lake located in the eastern area of Banff National Park in Canada, about five kilometres northeast of the Banff townsite (I love this town). The lake is 21 km long and 142 m deep, making it the 2nd longest lake in the mountain parks of the Canadian Rockies. I took this image on one of my solo trips, Teddy had never been to the Rockies until 2019. When we visited together and went to this same lake, it was very much winter. It was so snowy that you couldn't even see the lake let alone the mountains, so we will be making another trip together again in a warmer month.
